Estrella Damm - THE MEDITERRANEAN BEER
Since 1876, Estrella Damm has been synonymous with Barcelona, its taste infused with the city's unique cultural expression of food, art and life. Now, the beer from Barcelona is bringing the flavour long associated with the Mediterranean's cultural epicentre to UK shores. And in true Barcelona style it brings what no other lager does - a quintessential experience that evokes warm, laid-back summer evenings and a uniquely Mediterranean pace of life.
140 years ago, a young August K. Damm and his wife Melanie emigrated from Alsace to escape the Franco-Prussian war. Their journey took them to the Mediterranean to realize their dreams of doing what they did best: brewing beer. In 1876 they established their own brewery, having crafted a distinctive and evolved beer, suitable for warmer climates, so different to existing central European beers: The Mediterranean Lager.
To this day, Estrella Damm is brewed using their original 1876 recipe and only the best Mediterranean ingredients: barley malt, rice and hops. The quality of our ingredients is of the utmost importance and as such, we work closely with local Mediterranean farmers, supplying them with our carefully selected pure seed varieties. Our yeast is unique and it is stored under high security measures and our malt is processed to the strictest standards in our own malthouse, La Moravia.
It takes a minimum of 3 weeks for Estrella Damm to complete the fermentation and production process. This level of care and attention has been recognized through the acclaim and numerous awards won across the globe. Issues such as Oxidation and Microbiological Contamination are overcome by using the most modern packaging technology. And our brown bottle protects against ultraviolet radiation, this combined with appropriate cold storage ensures that the beer can be enjoyed as was intended: Mediterráneamente.

Lavazza's mission is to bring the authentic Italian espresso experience to a global audience. For over 30 years Lavazza has devoted itself to gastronomy and product experimentation. Its training centre, founded in 1979 in Turin was the first espresso school in Italy and the company has now opened 50 further centres around the world. Italy's favourite coffee collaborates with high-profile chefs around the world, including Ferran Adrià, Carlo Cracco and Massimo Bottura. Furthering their devotion to the Haute Cuisine, Lavazza is honoured to be a partner of Slow Food UK, showing their commitment to food with a dedication to community and environment.
Drinking coffee outside the home is a part of everyday UK culture. This one-time nation of tea-drinkers now produces some of the best food in the world and has also developed an appreciation for great coffee. Lavazza's belief is that diners at top restaurants expect the coffee to be at least as good, if not better, than their coffee shop experience. As such, there is a risk that a sub-standard coffee at the end of a beautifully prepared meal can leave the customer with a bitter taste in their mouth. Lavazza believes capsule systems are the future when it comes to food service ensuring exceptional coffee is served consistently. Their BLUE capsule system produces an espresso that is unrivalled by any other method and is used by many top gastronomy restaurants including Nathan Outlaw in Rock, Cornwall, and L'Anima in London.

Liberty Wines and Nyetimber
Providing exceptional service is at the heart of what Liberty Wines does. Its approach is simple: strive to supply the right wine to the right place at the right time and price. Awarded International Wine Challenge On-trade Supplier of the Year for seven years in succession, along with overall Trade Merchant of the Year in 2015, the company continues to invest in education and training for staff and customers, in the belief that increased knowledge improves service. Now in the third year sponsoring these awards, Liberty Wines is delighted to recognise those in the industry who also strive for outstanding service.
Nyetimber, the official Sparkling Wine partner of these awards, shares this pursuit of excellence. For over 25 years Nyetimber has had a single aim: to make the finest English sparkling wine, one to rival the very best in the world, including Champagne. A true pioneer, Nyetimber was the first producer of English sparkling wine to exclusively grow the three celebrated grape varieties: Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier and Chardonnay. Nyetimber is made from one hundred percent estate-grown grapes and is regarded as England's finest sparkling wine, well deserving its place on the table of the country's finest dining establishments.
Geographically, Norway is one long coastline. So it's no surprise that we're a fishing nation. It's in our genes after all; plenty of our fathers and their fathers before them made their living at sea, and as children we grow up eating it. At the Norwegian Seafood Council, our job is to tell this story - and why we are one of the world's biggest and most sustainable producers of seafood. Our fish are precious. Over the centuries, their abundance has saved many a Norwegian's life along our long, remote coastline. We realised though, 25 years ago, that we needed to change how we looked after our fish. We introduced a ban on discarding fish that were dead or dying in 1987. It was part of a larger approach to cutting down the food we waste and the income we earn from our fish. Alongside the discard ban the measures we used then (and still use now) include mesh size, selectivity rules, restriction on the use of trawls and other gears, seasonal closures, by-catch rules and minimum sizes. Ultimately we created a system that spared recruits and undersized fish, and minimised any unwanted by-catch. That's why Norwegian Seafood Council are proud to be sponsoring the National Restaurant Awards ‘Sustainable Restaurant of the Year Award'.
