Head chef Sally Abe is making her gastropub’s legendary Sunday roasts available for people to make at home

Now that sounds like something we can get our teeth into

It sure does. In happier times, bagging a table for Sunday lunch at The Harwood Arms required patience, tenacity and forward planning, but now you can order to have its roast delivered to your door instead.

My mouth’s already watering. What do I get?

The roast box comes stuffed with a ready-to-cook 500g piece of sirloin (the exact cut and size which is roasted to order when you eat at the Fulham pub) accompanied by a bone marrow and braised beef gravy, part-cooked potatoes that come with beef fat to be roasted; carrots baked in hay, a bunch of greens; and a generous Yorkshire pudding. And some horseradish sauce, of course. For those looking for something with which to wash it down, the pub is offering bottles of Brooks Runway Red Pinot Noir from Oregon for £25.

Brilliant. But what if I’m terrible at roasts?

All the ingredients come in their own containers ready to put into the oven and with full instructions and timings to help you make a Michelin-starred roast dinner at home that’s probably better than what you’d get in many a gastropub.

So, what do I have to do?

Forward planning is still required with roasts delivered to your door on Saturday if you order the Wednesday before. And you’ll also still need to be patient as it’s not yet available for delivery until 20 June 20. And, saying that, you’ll still need to be organised – there are only limited numbers available each week, and they are likely to sell fast.

And the price?

The Harwood Arms Sunday Roast Box for two is £70, although there is a larger box available for four people too.
