Jun Tanaka has reopened his Michelin-starred Fitzrovia restaurant The Ninth for takeaway and delivery

So we can have The Ninth’s nosh again?

Exactly. The Ninth At Home features some of the restaurant’s most popular dishes, which Tunaka has adapted to ensure they travel well.

What’s on the menu?

Menu items include flamed mackerel with capers, kohlrabi and sea purslane; chargrilled veal chop with smoked aubergine caviar, olives and Datterini tomatoes; crispy belle de fontenay potatoes and Tanaka’s signature pain perdu, all of which are individually priced. But if you want to leave your dinner in the lap of the culinary gods, you can also order a menu for two (at £70 or £120) that comprises a selection of The Ninth’s signature dishes and ‘offers a perfectly balanced and indulgent restaurant-like meal at home,’ says the restaurant.

Sounds delicious

There’s more. The Ninth is also offering a lunch menu available for collection and local delivery with at least one meat, one fish and one vegetarian dish available daily. These include crispy chicken salad with smoked bacon, pickled onion, baby gem, crushed potato and parmesan dressing; and chargrilled Tenderstem broccoli with roast aubergine, poached egg, pickled radish and miso dressing – all priced at £15.

But no truffle pasta?

Well spotted. In fact, you’re able to make The Ninth’s signature dish at home yourself with its  truffle pasta kit. The kit includes freshly made Conchiglie pasta, 10g of Australian winter truffle, truffle veloute, egg yolk and parmesan and is an easy way to recreate the restaurant’s cooking in your own home.

If only I could order something to wash it all down with…

You can. The restaurant’s entire wine list is also available for delivery, with bottles starting at £29.
